GCAM is dedicated to and specializes in the plasma industry. We are a growing company with centers in multiple states, and we have an immediate need for a Full-Time Plasma Processing Supervisor at our facility located in Eagle Pass, TX.
Please note: This is an entry-level position and you do not need to have relevant work experience just a desire to grow, develop and learn. GCAM will provide in-house training. Bilingual English/Spanish is REQUIRED.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Coordinate Daily Activities in Processing Area
- Make daily assignment in coordination with manager
- Observe technicians for compliance
- Collect and process required samples for processing/diagnostic testing
- Freeze units for final packing in allotted time frame
- Complete all necessary record documentation
- Plasma units/samples are meeting time/storage requirements. Control bleed numbers are controlled and procedures followed.
- Freezer(s)/refrigerators are clean, organized, and working properly. - Train new technicians
- Plan and coordinate training schedule
- Monitor trainees on a daily basis to assess adherence to procedures
- Conduct classes using verbal, visual, and hands-on approach
- Document each step of training in employee’s training folder
- Check all trainees’ documents and work performance for accuracy and compliance
- Present and evaluate employee comprehension using written tests and performance reviews
- Initiate re-training - Assist in evaluation of technicians
- Ensure that employees are competent in their positions so that they can work independently
- Build rapport with donors to ensure “overall customer satisfaction” with the center to support long-term donation.
- Present changes to staff as required
- Assess problems and coordinate with Manager to process units in an efficient manner
- Assist with all inspections
- Make suggestions for changes in SOPs and forms
- Control and accuracy of inventory
- Preparation of shipment of plasma, staging, samples, removal of unacceptable units
- Available to assist when there is a freezer alarm (on-call list if deemed necessary by center management team)
Additional Responsibilities
- Report directly to Manager/Training Coordinator with all training matters
- Report other employee matters directly to Management Team
- Encourage trainees to have a good grasp on regulatory compliance in all jobs they perform
- Work with Quality Assurance in regards to new trainees and/or supervision of other employees
- Perform other duties as requested by management, if there are no current trainees
- Supervise other technicians for procedural compliance
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and as otherwise posted or communicated.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Must be able to show proof)
- Current CPR card
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must be proficient in English (Read, Write, Speak) with legible handwriting
- Prior supervisory skills preferred
- Certified as a Trainer if requested
- Certified in plasma processing area, certified in reception area as well as donor collection area if requested
- Six months’ experience in plasma processing (Requirements can be changed by Management, depending on skill and knowledge)
- Participate in all training and job development meetings
- May be required to travel for training
