GCAM is dedicated to and specializes in plasma industry. We are a growing company with centers in multiple states, and we have an immediate need for a Training Supervisor at our facility located in Indianapolis, IN.
 
SUMMARY
The Training Supervisor is responsible for the effective training and documentation of their assigned donor center.  The Training Supervisor ensures all training is properly completed and the documentation of all training activities is in compliance with regulatory guidelines and the approved GCAM Training Program.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Ensure center adherence to GCAM Training Program standards and annual training requirements
  • Works in conjunction with Management and Quality to identify and implement corrective measures to eliminate regulatory deficiencies in training
  • Creates, maintains and audits employee training files
  • Coordinates the center’s certification schedule; initial, annual, CPR
  • Monitors and evaluates training effectiveness for assigned center
  • Develops and coordinates training schedules for all new hires (orientation through certification)
  • Manages New Hire Onboarding program
  • Prepares and delivers monthly in-service presentations; prepares monthly in-service training agenda for Center Manager
  • Delivers quarterly soft skills training
  • Performs and documents monthly performance observations for certified area staff and trainees
  • Monitors and evaluates individual error rates; develop targeted training plans to address deficiencies
  • Coordinates all retraining activities
  • Ensures training and documentation of new SOP implementations and all in-services
  • Oversees the selection and approval process for designated trainers; provides final approval of competency to train
  • Directly supervises the center Training Coordinator in centers who have them
  • Directs and oversees training activities for center designated trainers
  • Routinely evaluates DT competency, documentation, knowledge-transfer skills and customer service (internal/external)
  • Collects and evaluates data to identify training gaps
  • Works with center trainers and RTM/DCI to enhance the center training program; offers recommendations for improvement
  • Work with center management team to implement operational changes to enhance center operational effectiveness
  • Participates in regulatory inspections; responsible to answer to auditor for all center training records and processes
  • Reports all training matters to CM and RTM/DCI on a weekly basis (or as needed)
  • Provides feedback for the center’s probationary and annual performance review processes
  • Completes performance review process for Training Coordinators; provides Center Management with performance feedback for designated trainers
  • Maintains thorough familiarity and compliance with State and Federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedures Manual, Training Manual, OSHA, cGMP, PPTA, CLIA, AABB, GCC requirements and internal company procedures.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be certified as a Trainer and maintain certification in all areas of the plasma center (Reception, Donor Floor, Plasma Processing)
  • Must have 1-year supervisory experience (in absence of 1-year experience, must complete 60 hours of professional development courses)
  • Minimum of 3-years industry experience (Plasma or Blood banking) or equivalent, preferred
  • At least 1-year training experience or 6-months Training Coordinator experience (post-certification) within GCAM
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • May require traveling – approximately 15%.
  • Current CPR Card
  • Works well independently.
  • Intermediate level computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 
  • While performing this job, it is regularly required to use hands to finger, to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stand for extended periods of time (2-4 hours), walk, climb, or balance; and to stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • May be required to walk and stand for entire work shifts. 
  • Physically able to use and operate equipment used in accessing donor suitability as well as equipment used to harvest plasma.
  • Manual dexterity to perform all phases of plasmapheresis.
  • Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read while standing or sitting in front of complete for 1-2 hour intervals
  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
