Reports to: Senior Director of Behavioral Health

Summary: The Director of HIV Services is responsible for leading a spectrum of HIV services offered at The Center, which includes HIV testing and counseling, prevention navigation and case management services, support groups and community events, as well as outreach and training relevant to HIV testing, prevention and care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Senior Director of Behavioral Health and other program directors to provide administrative oversight for The Center’s federal SAMHSA contract and HIV prevention contracts funded by Public Health Solutions (PHS) and DOHMH.
- Provide direct supervision to the Sexual Health Education Coordinator, HIV Testing Counselor and the HIV Case Manager, ensuring that deliverables are being met for all contracts and programs.
- Manage the HIV testing and counseling services offered at The Center by ensuring ongoing quality assurance, delivering training on policies and procedures, facilitating support to staff, and providing regular updates to the Medical Director.
- Coordinate The Center’s support groups and community events for LGBT people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, providing supervision to interns facilitating groups and managing recruitment.
- Oversee prevention navigation and case management services, maintaining relationships with community partners in order to facilitate linkage for HIV treatment, PrEP/PEP, housing assistance, and other service needs.
- Oversee regular training for service providers on HIV and the LGBT community through The Center Training Institute and at external agencies, as well as an annual internal training on HIV Confidentiality for Center staff and interns.
- Participate and engage in community efforts including the NYC HIV Planning Group, the ETE Steering Committee for Lower Manhattan, NY Links and NY Knows.
- Work closely with other departments to submit grant proposals and contract reports for relevant programming.
Position requirements:
- Clinical Master’s degree (LCSW/LMSW, LMHC) required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years clinical and/or administrative experience within the field of HIV testing, prevention and/or treatment. Extensive knowledge of PrEP/PEP preferred.
- Significant experience working with LGBT populations, including knowledge of the spectrum of gender identity and transgender issues.
- Solid leadership, administrative, organization, and written/verbal communication skills; bilingual a plus.
- Commitment to inclusive, multicultural programming; prior experience working within coalitions with diverse communities and an understanding of intersectional oppressions.
- A strong commitment to social justice and the mission of The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center.
