Program Lead

The Program Lead is responsible for providing high-quality service to our students and instructors and facilitating communication and collaboration between various departments at the campus level. Responsibilities:
Program Administration:

  • Deliver on the program implementation plan to generate unconditional success in all metrics pertaining to the cohort, including; placement rate, satisfaction ratings, starting salary, health and happiness of students, quality and adherence of group culture to program culture, and prescribed seat fill.
  • Understand how the program works in detail (even though the subject matter may be technical and foreign to you) and the role of different players. Be well versed in program delivery approaches and standard methodologies.
  • Generate student experience and program success through various reflection and actioning sessions, in a variety of formats.
  • Stay on top of the perceptions and feelings and needs of the class. Handle difficult issues such as impostor syndrome, group conflicts, and truancy.
  • Responsible for the health of academic and cultural student pipeline from admissions through job placement.
  • Understand what drives 5-star program reviews, strong academic results and successful job placement.
  • Maintain accurate, deep, real-time data on how students are scoring across these dimensions, working with other members of the instruction team as required.
  • Suss out the reasons behind student success issues / risks. Resolve remedial solutions and craft, rollout & run associated action plans.
  • Deliver (often difficult) feedback to students that improve outcomes and result in positive sentiment. Serve as support and safety net for instructional team and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate data collection of each student
Marketing and Admissions
  • Work with Evangelist to create partnerships and promote the Galvanize brand through events and campaigns.
  • Oversee the local admissions process, ensuring that it runs smoothly, from lead to application, to contract, to close.
Student Support: 
  • Support students throughout their programs to maximize student satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute information sessions, orientations, student check-ins, social events, graduation, and other team-building events.
  • Support student placement efforts to ensure maximum student job placement and satisfaction including hosting employment partners for events and educational programs.
Instructor Management & Support
  • Schedule approved classes to ensure classroom and revenue optimization, while avoiding conflicts and ensuring appropriate and optimal instructor scheduling.
  • Ensure classrooms are set up appropriately and work with facilities if issues or additional classroom build out needs to be addressed.
  • Manage the instructional leaders of the campus.
  • Support onboarding of instructors.
Student Outcomes and Hiring Partner Facilitation and Success Maximization:
  • Manage Career Services team members as they seek to provide students with best-in-class career development education and opportunities.
  • Oversee the management of hiring partner relationships and events to ensure maximum student attendance and partner satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback from hiring partners to product team to continually improve course offerings, direction etc.
Additional:
  • Coordinate with Events Manager to organize the logistics and execution of related events and activities.
  • Assist in meeting state regulatory requirements at the local level.
  • Ensure standardization and efficacy of student programming.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in managing educational programs.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing a team.
  • Steady presence in a group setting, able to facilitate communication, and models solid judgment.
  • Expert at guiding expectation setting, supporting a growth mindset culture, and practicing active listening.
  • Ability to distinguish and decide when to act on intuition and emotional intelligence and when to use hard data.
  • Trustworthy public speaker who can speak in front of groups large and small.
  • Outstanding customer service skills coupled with keen and powerful pedagogical insight and ability to set boundaries and educational context. 
  • Systemic and subject-matter expertise that creates: 
  •  fast, accurate predictions of needed job-seeker remediations, and 
  • creates effective action plans accurately and easily.
  • Able to work with diverse staff, students, and stakeholder groups (execs, alums, partner schools, etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassionate listener and communicator yet can set boundaries and direct behavior effectively.
  • Remarkable systematic and organizational thinking, yet able to act swiftly, given rough-cut immediate conditions. 
  • An interest/ability to learn the technical components that are necessary for success in this role.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in instructional or program design a plus.
  • Project/program management experience a plus.
  • Hospitality and/or recruiting experience a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and strong attention to detail.
  • Evening/weekend availability.
