We are looking for a career coach to strengthen and grow our industry leading Student Outcomes program. The career coach is responsible for maintaining the school's high graduate placement rate, and is constantly finding new ways to enhance the student job search and post-bootcamp professional experience.

Job Description:
We are looking for a career coach to strengthen and grow our industry leading Student Outcomes program. The career coach is responsible for maintaining the school's high graduate placement rate, and is constantly finding new ways to enhance the student job search and post-bootcamp professional experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage caseloads ranging from 40 to 70 students through six-month job search cycles.
  • Become familiar with using our current support systems, and, over time, evolve them in ways that increase the value that we deliver to graduates and alumni.
  • Evaluate, prioritize and address inbound requests related to student job searches as they arise, containing all requests within a standardized workflow.
  • Proactively identify students who need additional support both prior to and after interviews, and ensure they are supported as necessary.
  • Proactively conduct one-on-one appointments with students when needed or directed. The career coach will regularly hold 20+ hours of one-on-one appointments every week.
  • Motivate, train and mentor students throughout the entirety of their job search cycle.
  • Be comfortable delivering content and issue action items in lecture and Q&A formats to an audience of over thirty graduates and alumni.
  • Review cover letters, resumes, online portfolio and other materials to provide tactical advice to drive the success of high-stakes job applications
  • Identify and troubleshoot job seekers in need of support, and be a passionate advocate for all job-seeking graduates.

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Career coach success is measured in several ways:
  • Graduate job search success rate
  • Median graduate salary
  • Graduate satisfaction (determined by survey)

Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Charismatic public speaker who can speak in front of groups large and small.
  • Predicts needed job-seeker remediations and creates effective action plans accurately and easily.
  • Able to work with diverse staff, students, and stakeholder groups (execs, alums, partner schools, etc).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Empathetic listener and communicator.
  • Detail oriented and systematic.
  • Strong data analysis and data organization skills using spreadsheets.
  • While the position doesn’t require software engineering skills, you should have an interest/ability to learn the components that are necessary for success in this role (which will be supplied to you).
  • College degree preferred but not required.
