Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a seasoned, qualified Production Control Manager to be accountable for more than 100 employees across production scheduling, fabrication, paint, and multiple assembly departments.
The Production Control Manager at Frazer reports to the Vice President of Operations and works directly with the Safety, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Accounting teams to ensure that Job Orders are completed safely and on time while reducing the total production cycle time, and minimizing both quality defects and total labor hours required.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Production Manager Look Like?
- Help drive and implement a safety culture and mindset first and foremost.
- Maintain accountability and achievable action plans across supervisors and team leads.
- Delegate effectively to maximize the best use of talent and resources available.
- Work creatively to resolve issues, overcome obstacles, and meet production goals.
- Monitor and adjust work center production schedules as needed to hit delivery dates.
- Ensure teams have the personnel, tools and supplies they need.
- Be the "voice" of production while seeking to improve overall employee engagement.
- Address both internal and external customer concerns.
- Research and implement process improvements with documentation and training.
- Train and mentor others on lean manufacturing best practices.
- Identify and eliminate production inefficiencies.
- Lead and educate at production and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings.
- Monitor and effectively manage all production expenses and resources.
- Create, analyze, and monitor relevant production metrics.
