Product Designer (Remote)

FoundationLab is a product design studio serving the legal industry. We work in collaboration with law firms and in-house legal departments to redesign the ways in which corporate legal services are delivered and consumed. As the product team on projects, we contribute a combination of product strategy, UX strategy, UX/UI design, and agile development to bring top end digital products to market.

Our design team is expanding, and we are seeking a Product Designer with experience driving the design process from ideation to execution. As a services business, you’ll be responsible for working with clients, directly, to understand their unique challenges, craft and test prototypes, and work with our product team to deliver functional products. Our ideal candidate is a high agency individual, comfortable making decisions, handling feedback from clients and teammates, working in a remote environment, and adapting to the pace of a growing organization.

What To Expect
  • Working across a variety of client challenges and products
  • Work with clients and PMs to deliver low and high fidelity prototypes 
  • Conduct and support user research and usability testing
  • Collaborate with PMs and engineers through the design and development process
  • Make recommendations and updates to our evolving brand and design system
  • Ability to help shape our growing design team (both people and process)
  • Travel to meet with clients and teammates

Critical Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • UX design, prototyping, visual design, with a strong understanding of user research.
  • Familiar with contemporary design tools, Sketch or Framer
  • Building clickable prototypes (InvisionApp preferred)
  • Familiar with all current UI and UX patterns on web and mobile
  • Comfortable presenting work to teammates and clients, and applying feedback
  • Collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers through an agile design and development process (including enterprise builds and release cycles)

Additional Skills and Experience
  • Designing products for traditional industries (insurance, accounting, legal, etc.)
  • Working with or within a professional services organization
  • Experience building and working in design systems
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS
