Manager, Accounting

This is a great opportunity to be the first accountant in a fast-growing company. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play an important role in managing and defining the Company’s accounting processes, providing valuable insight and new policies that will be used to assess the performance of Forward Financing. Collaborating frequently with the Senior Director of Strategy & Finance as well as the rest of the Leadership Team, your role in working on all accounting initiatives will be critical to driving our mission forward and helping scale the business as well as the future of the Accounting team.

In this role you will:
  • Collaborate frequently with the Leadership team on ways to streamline existing processes, and contribute to defining new practices within Accounting 
  • Research new accounting pronouncements and policies that may impact Forward Financing
  • Work with our Controller to refine and implement capitalization policies, including the potential to capitalize the Company’s software development 
  • Create and share weekly and monthly reports related to all aspects of financial analysis, including revenue and expenditures 
  • Assists FP&A team in forecasting and budgeting for each department
  • Contribute to future hiring decisions 
  • Oversee and handle monthly close responsibilities and financial reporting for various internal and external stakeholdersCreate and share lender and investor reports, including covenant calculation and analysis 
  • Work with an international subsidiary to ensure their reporting is accurate and timely
  • Work with external auditors to complete the annual audit
  • Implement and maintain accounting systems using QuickBooks or similar software

  • BS/BA+ in Accounting, Business or Finance
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in a senior public and/or private accounting position, CPA is required 
  • Proven ability to think analytically, while also possessing exemplary financial skills and excellent communication
  • Strong communication skills with the proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external partners 
  • Demonstrated experience of implementing new processes and accounting policies
