Logistics Coordinator

THE ROLE:
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager for operations, Logistics Coordinators organize, track, and execute activities within the Logistics Department. This is a road role that requires planning and project management. Everyone in the company relies on Logistics Coordinators as the main points of contact for the Logistics Department.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Communicate with staff, vendors, and customers as a primary point of contact for the Logistics Department throughout the day
  • Approve sales orders based on established criteria
  • Build daily routes for all regular deliveries
  • Prepare invoices and other delivery materials for daily routes
  • At the direction of the Logistics Manager, coordinate irregular deliveries and shipments (less-than-truckload and full-truckload)
  • At the direction of the Logistics Manager, perform dispatch functions for the Delivery team (e.g. help find tire repair & locksmith services and re-route orders as needed during the day)
  • Coordinate with daytime warehouse staff on will call orders
  • Collect and organize daily workload and service exception feedback from Delivery Drivers and Logistics Technicians
  • Assist Logistics Managers with reporting on key performance indicators
  • Assist Logistics Managers with tracking equipment information and coordinating repairs and maintenance


EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-2 years of experience within a high volume route management role preferred
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
 

SKILLS:
  • Proficient with Excel, Google Suite, and Apple computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Reliable, responsible, and proactive attitude
  • Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment 
  • Flexible and adaptable to change; ability to learn new software platforms
  • Current California Driver’s License
 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
  • Morning Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday
  • Afternoon Shift: 11:00 am - 7:30 pm Monday - Friday
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on volume of sales orders

TRAVEL:
  • Travel within the Greater Bay Area will occasionally be required for this role
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This job operates at a desk working on a computer most of the day in or adjacent to a warehouse environment with heavy machinery and occasional loud noises
