The Role
Fort Point Beer Company is seeking a Line Cook for Black Sands — our brewery, bar, and restaurant in the Lower Haight of San Francisco.
The Line Cook should have a genuine love of food, strong sense of professionalism, and at least 2 years working as a Line Cook in a restaurant kitchen.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Cook food using grill, flat top, fryer, etc.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly workspace
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly using appropriate cool down methods and FIFO
- Check quality of ingredients to ensure utilizing fresh product
- Follow all procedures as required by local, state, and federal health codes
- Other duties as directed by Executive Chef or restaurant management
Expected Hours of Work
This job requires evening, holiday, and weekend work.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours a day, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and walk
- Ability to move at least 150 pounds and lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to use fingers to grab, hold, and move items
