Director of Logistics

THE ROLE:
 
The Director of Logistics is responsible for guiding a team of Logistics Managers and leading ~25 staff in offices, warehouses, and on the road. This senior leadership position requires collaboration, goal setting, attention to details and timeframes, and a creative problem solving to scale this nimble and responsive department. The Director of Logistics works closely with our Sales and Finance Departments to fulfill demand for our products and facilitate billing at over 3,000 bars, restaurants, and grocery stores in the Greater Bay Area.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Lead the Logistics Department at Fort Point
  • Direct the Logistics Managers to evaluate and improve efficiency in processes
  • Direct the Logistics Managers to enforce safety and quality standards in Delivery, Operations, and Warehousing
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve our ability to fulfill sales and internal transfer orders
  • Work with Sales and Finance departments to increase sales and collections during delivery routes
  • Establish controls for the safe and efficient organization, distribution, storage, and record keeping of raw materials, finished goods, merchandise, and assets
  • Develop and implement staffing and equipment resource plans
  • Report to company leadership on sales order fulfillment and delivery and warehouse capacity usage

EXPERIENCE:
  • 8+ years experience in inventory management or operations management in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Project management and cost analysis
  • Vendor management
  • Customer Relations
  • Negotiation
  • Netsuite or similar ERP experience
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Lean, or other manufacturing systems preferred
 
SKILLS:
  • Advanced Excel, Google Suite, and Apple computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Reliable, responsible and proactive attitude
  • Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment 
  • Flexible and adaptable to change; ability to learn new software platforms

TRAVEL:
