The Role
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) oversees a team of Sales Representatives while also personally maintaining an account load of 20 – 40 key accounts within the region. The RSM must have a deep and intimate knowledge of the Region which they are managing, this includes having an understanding of the food and beverage landscape and how Fort Point fits in. This is a non-desk managerial position, the RSM will work in the field on a daily basis alongside Sales Reps.
This person must have a flexible management style and should be able to adapt to working with Sales Reps with varying levels of experience and knowledge. This is a collaborative position and the RSM will partner with several departments across the company to attend and execute events, collect from accounts, hire new employees, and more.
The Responsibilities
- Responsible for all Fort Point sales & field marketing activity within a given region
- Manage a team of Sales Reps helping them meet and exceed our goals
- Responsible for determining account & prospect lists for Sales Reps
- Ride along with Sales Reps to build rapport and develop selling skills
- Regularly work with distributor partners to ensure share of mind and build rapport
- Schedule ride-alongs between Fort Point sales team and distributor partners’ sales team
- Communicate weekly recap to distributor partners with sales numbers, challenges, and follow-up items
- Cultivate a team spirit and culture that is aligned with our Core Values
- Coach Sales Reps in their daily sales activity including, but not limited to, new business prospects, organization, outbound calls, CRM, time management, customer service, account management, and policy adherence
- Participate in the process of hiring, training and developing new Sales Reps
- Manage 40-50 key accounts within the region
- Manage and visit outlying territories within the region
- Meet and exceed weekly, period, and quarterly goals
- Monitor sales reports closely, track progress and provide feedback and assistance if necessary
- Work with Creative, Events, and Marketing Staff to manage field marketing within the region:
- Maintain an annual events calendar consisting of all festivals and events within the region
- Determine festival participation
- Manage a field marketing budget to be shared across the region
- Plan, produce, and execute account level events with Sales Reps
- Work with the Creative team to plan event promotions. Social Media or otherwise
The Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
- Experience managing a team of 2 or more sales people
- 3+ years of experience selling in the beer or beverage industry
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
