Accounting Manager

The Role
 
The Accounting Manager at Fort Point is responsible for coordinating with Staff, Managers, and Directors in every department to ensure The Accounting Manager has a broad range of duties from helping our Supply Chain Manager and department heads find efficiencies and cost savings in procurement practices to qualifying new vendors and tracking employee reimbursements. Every transaction is an opportunity to strengthen our business This job requires great organization and attention to detail as well as strong communication skills.
 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage regular and ad hoc general Journal Entries
  • Manage fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
  • Work with Financial consultants and other 3rd parties to manage accounting, tax filing, and other government reporting
  • Compile weekly and monthly financial reports for department heads
  • Work with Retail Managers to further develop and manage retail accounting procedures
  • Work with Supply Chain Manager, Inventory Manager, and other Accounting Managers to enforce GAAP compliant policies across departments
  • Work with Accounts Payable team and oversee process
  • Develop and refine general accounting procedures
 
 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years experience in Accounting
 
 
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Excel, Google Suite, and Apple computer skills
  • Advanced accounting software experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Reliable, responsible and proactive attitude
  • Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment 
  • Flexible and adaptable to change; ability to learn new software platforms
  • Ability to follow and communicate the company’s policies and procedures
 
 
Preferred Experience
  • Typical years experience in field of 5 years
  • Netsuite, ERP
 
 
Expected Hours
  • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
