The Role
From day one, our approach to marketing has been a natural extension of what we consider core to our company: excellent customer service, strong partnerships with SF institutions and organizations, award-winning packaging design, unique events, and more than anything, being a true part of the city we call home.  
 
We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join our senior leadership team, drive our marketing efforts and continue to strengthen and grow our brand in the Bay Area and beyond. The successful candidate is a seasoned marketing leader who is passionate about Fort Point Beer Co. and capable of transforming our brand into insightful, compelling and inspiring strategy, storytelling and programming, while growing our audience and customer-base.

The Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and assess marketing strategies and campaigns across a diverse range of channels including digital media, events, partnerships and retail
  • Lead and grow Fort Point’s in-house marketing team, promoting strong collaboration and innovative problem-solving approaches through direction, coaching and development
  • Act as the cross-departmental lead for product launches, working closely with Sales and Production
  • Establish a clear and compelling mission and strategy for Fort Point partnerships and donations and develop processes for measuring ROI; vet and execute partnerships contracts
  • Define best practices for Fort Point events, and establish standards for measuring success
  • Oversee all external communications including product copy, social media, blog, newsletters, and website copy
  • Hone and codify Fort Point’s brand voice and personality, ensuring consistent messaging and tone across all marketing efforts
  • Manage press, media outreach and public relations
  • Identify and keep abreast of relevant trends and insights across competitors in the beer category and beyond
  • Build and manage Marketing Team Profit & Loss Statement
  • Create tools for implementing brand standards across the company and with external partners to ensure consistency 

The Requirements
  • Proven aptitude for inventive, imaginative, and resourceful problem-solving, and ability to think “outside the box”; a strong desire to do things differently and better
  • Demonstrated ability to guide high-functioning teams with diplomacy, humor, passion and rigor
  • Strong project management background with experience directing the rollout of brands and projects from start to finish
  • Ability to recognize and leverage marketing opportunities to directly drive sales
  • Sophisticated grasp of marketing KPIs, and experience building and managing marketing budgets
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts, craft a compelling narrative, and build an emotional connection through storytelling
  • Capacity to be a connector, maintain strong relationships and communicate effectively with diverse personality types and cross-functional partners
  • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong sense of visual design
  • Love for San Francisco, and excellent knowledge and connections within the Bay Area food, beer and creative scenes
  • Integrity, credibility and commitment to Fort Point Beer Company’s mission, values and company goals
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing or Business preferred
  • 8+ years experience in marketing, experience with CPG brands preferred
  • Photography, video, and print production and editing a plus
  • Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Google Business Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)

The Work Environment
  • The employee will be expected to work 40-50 hours weekly around the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
  • Open office environment in addition to a wide variety of event sites
  • May require occasional travel between Fort Point facilities and regions
