    The Team
    The Cellar team at Fort Point owns beer-in-process from the brewhouse to the packaging line.

    The Role
    The Brewery Technician III (BT3) position is Fort Point Beer Company’s advanced general Cellar role. This position requires a solid foundation of production brewery experience and brewery operation knowledge.  BT3s work as part of  a team to conduct advanced, multi-step procedures on the production floor. Curiosity and an appetite for technical study makes this a great opportunity to learn on the job. The ability to operate on a schedule without direct instruction or supervision, as well as diligent data management, mechanical aptitude, and a safety first attitude are key to success in this position. 
        
    Primary Responsibilities
    • Yeast harvesting and storage
    • Daily centrifuge set-up, operation, and cleaning
    • Independently run CIP (clean-in-place) and sanitizing cycles on fermentation vessels and bright tanks
    • Complete daily cellar reports and record measurements
    • Safely execute any fermenter additions
    • Perform and record daily yeast and hop drops from fermentation vessels
    • Monitor carbonation and clarity of bright beer
    • Ensure that all products meet required quality control points at every stage in the brewing process after hot side
     
    Requirements
    • Possess a safety-first approach to all tasks

    • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
    • Able to lift, bend, and move repeatedly
    • Able to stand for long periods of time
    • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs and be able to push / pull up to 2200 lbs using a pallet jack
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
     
    Expected Hours of Work
    • Shifts are scheduled as 4x10 hours with occasional overtime required
    • A variety of shifts exist for the Brewery Technician III position including some nights and weekends

    Equipment and Work Environment
    • Operate forklift, scissor lift and manual and powered pallet jack
    • Density meter, pH meter, microscope, and general lab equipment
    • Centrifuge
