Job Description:
Fortalice Solutions has an opportunity to hire a System Integrator based in Arlington, VA supporting a mission critical, government-wide cybersecurity program. By supporting this program, you will be contributing to cybersecurity assessment and risk management of the client organization IT infrastructure, through development and implementation of requirements, policies and procedures.
You will be required to develop clear, thoughtful, and actionable recommendations to improve the security of these systems and must be able to communicate these recommendations effectively through verbal and written means. Candidates should have a strong understanding of modern network technologies, protocols (e.g. TCP, SMTP, DNS, SSH, etc.), and security practices. Candidates must be well versed in reviewing, analyzing, and commenting on secure network design, federal security and operational requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53r4, CNNSI 1253).
Candidates are responsible for the implementation of solution and operations design to ensure the organization’s operational and strategic objectives are met on relevant projects. Candidates will generally assists other systems integrator personnel assigned to the project. Functional Responsibility: Under direct supervision, works to design and develop departmental solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and custom hardware and software components. Supports the capture and evaluation of system requirements and the analysis of hardware and software components for inclusion in overall technical solution. Assists in the implementation of system interfaces and custom hardware and software components.
There is a small amount of travel (less than 10%) expected.
Required Skills:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience with relevant certifications.
- One to two years demonstrated performance in systems integration. Experienced in the documentation, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of smaller systems including information technology systems, operating systems, software applications, and COTS/GOTS systems.

Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with federal information security standards (NIST SP 800-53r4, FedRAMP, CNNSI 1253, etc.) and practical experience implementing solutions that comply with these standards
- A solid base of knowledge of information security-related solutions, tools, and utilities required.
- Experience assessing information systems using NIST Special Publications, e.g., NIST 800-37, 800-53, 800-137, etc.
- At least one of the following certifications preferred: Security+, CAP, HITRUST.
- Ability to pivot across different data sources to understand events, their impact, and
- Knowledge and understanding of adversaries, TTPs and the attacker kill-chain.
- Understanding of malware and malware behavior.
- Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, able to speak about technical topics with both non-technical and technical colleagues.
- Broad understanding of the risks facing the technology industry, including current and emerging threats.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and architecture.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong oral and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to work under very little supervision and take general direction from more senior team members to successfully complete high-quality tasks in a timely manner.
