EHS Lead

Role Description
We are looking for an EHS Lead to further develop and manage the Form Energy lab safety program. This person will be responsible for making sure our team is operating with best safety practices and leading efforts to improve the culture of safety in the workplace. The ideal candidate will be both able to proactively mitigate new hazards as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to quickly respond to critical situations. This person will work closely with all members of the Form Energy team to provide a great and safe place to work. What You’ll Do
  • Manage chemical inventory and hazardous waste
  • Conduct weekly safety inspections of facilities and key equipment
  • Conduct hazard assessments and document job safety analyses of new processes & materials
  • Manage safety training schedules for various teams and departments
  • EHS and industrial hygiene contractor management 
  • Establish and maintain EHS procedures & SOPs
  • Design, set up and maintain safety equipment (e.g. monitoring systems, fume hoods, spill kits, etc)
  • Obtain and maintain all permits and certifications required for safe and legal operation
  • Be landlord liason on safety and environmental issues 
  • Ensure general lab cleanliness and organization

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in environmental health and safety roles
  • Direct experience with navigating regulatory requirements as they relate to Large Quantity Generator status
  • Advanced degree in chemistry preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of chemical interactions and hazards
  • OSHA10 / OSHA30 certifications
  • Hazwoper certifications
  • RCRA training
  • Department of Transportation Hazardous materials shipping certifications
