Senior Technical Project Manager

To achieve this vision, we’re looking for our first Senior Technical Project Manager in Kraków, Poland.
The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing technical project planning, management and oversight for key customer onboarding and data warehouse implementation projects, ensuring that customer-focused data warehouse projects are completed on-time, within scope and budget and achieve customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with our major commercial airline clients to define project scope, timelines, and success criteria
- Support and assist FLYR’s data engineering teams and business analysts from project kickoff through to delivery of a production data warehouse. Schedule and track data deliveries from customers. Track and report on FLYR’s validation of customer’s deliverables. Identify and track customer-specific IT setup, connectivity, and data clarification questions through to their resolution.
- Partner with FLYR technical staff to engage with customer on technical delivery issues to identify, scope, and schedule any customer-speciific IT or software development work needed in order to consume customer data and deliver on FLYR objectives.
- Execute on and continuously improve FLYR’s play-book and processes for on-boarding new airline customers and their data.
- Create and implement best practice program management strategy, processes, and procedures to aid and improve on time and on budget delivery of large data warehouse and data engineering IT projects.
- Drives accountability for software delivery and ensuring commitments are met
- Monitor the completion of tasks and record on internal and customer-facing systems.
- Communicate with senior management on program status, risks and issues. Ensure regular and timely communication between customer project team members. Interacts with Software Engineering, DevOps, Data Science, Product Management, and other areas of FLYR’s business
- Manage internal and external meetings and calls to handle all issues related to delivery times, budget, quality, and feature scope. Help establish and maintain the interface between the customers and engineering teams
- Produce and present reports on the above to management, organization and clients
- Willingness to travel to customer locations: <30%
- This position will be reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering in Krakow, and work closely with Program Management in San Francisco, USA.
Experience:
- Strong leadership and people management skills, and capacity to interact directly with customers including senior technical and program management leadership
- Excellent organizational skills
- Three or more years of experience in a program management role within a software-centric organization.
- Has managed large IT programs with multiple teams and deliverables.
- Ability to operate under pressure and tight deadlines
- Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results
- Track record of successfully managing multiple large-scale projects
- Commercially and financially astute
- Experienced with Agile software development methodologies
- Travel industry or large enterprise software industry background a bonus
- You‘ve worked with airline and travel data and have a good understanding of domain
- Experience with product lifecycle methodologies from idea to launch
- Highly organized and detail oriented with exceptional time management skills
- Able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
