IT Operations Coordinator

The Position
As an IT operations coordinator you will monitor and provide guidance in setting up, maintaining and operating a secure and efficient operation of the IT Infrastructure, which includes end-user computing, local and wide area networks, servers, and IP telephony.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues and immediately correct as required, including determining the need for improvement/upgrade to ensure optimal performance. 
  • Oversee various outsourced solutions including but not limited to hosted Cloud infrastructure, email solution, SPAM filters, SIP telephony, etc. provided by 3rd party service providers.
  • Manage technical support services to troubleshoot and solve issues with PC hardware and software, including components and peripherals, and handle escalations as required.
  • Provide LAN/WAN operational support for data and voice communications, including monitoring utilization.
  • Perform diagnostics and problem resolution as and when necessary.
  • Perform technology needs analysis of in-house and cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide proactive/corrective action to maintain optimum network operations, including analyzing network traffic and performance statistics and recommending enhancements as and when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain a reliable cybersecurity strategy to keep intranet and internet working operations, including end-user computing, free from malware, hackers, and other security threats.Communicate/coordinate with technical support services of 3rd party service providers to resolve issues as required.
  • Check and maintain various system, security and application logs on the servers on regular basis as well as track/monitor system performance such as memory, CPU, disk usage, etc. and physical hardware for any warning lights and alarms.
  • Maintain user accounts on servers and network hardware, ensuring that appropriate security measures are in place to avoid unauthorized access and reporting any unusual activity/access to the Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure and Security.
  • Maintain an up-to-date topology and information documents on server and network hardware containing details such as hardware (brand, model, CPU, drives, etc.), software (OS version, applications installed, etc.), systems (location, IP, number of user accounts, admin account password, etc.)
  • Assist with IT department upgrades, new initiatives and any other special projects which may be assigned from time to time. 
  • Provide end user security training to staffs 
 
Must Haves:
- Previous IT experience in an operational support role 
- Excellent time management and organizational skills 
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently 
- Ability to work under pressure and meet the deadline 
- Ability to be on call 
- Good level of knowledge on windows,Mac and linux administration 

Nice to Haves:
  • Knowledge of cloud technology specifically AWS
  • Knowledge of git and code repositories
