Strategist, Research and Insights

We’re looking to add an experienced Strategist, Research & Insights (Senior Manager equivalent) to our Strategy team. In this strategist role, you’ll be the one conducting extensive research both qualitative and quantitative.  You are someone who likes to dig in deep, analyze exhaustively, make recommendations and create compelling stories out of your findings.  Sound like you?

Your time will be spent both at a large tech client in Mountain View and at our headquarters in the heart of San Francisco.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Conduct primary research:
  • Grasp of the big picture and recommend research methodologies based on understanding of how findings can best impact decision making
  • Define and document the legal process required to conduct interviews on client’s behalf
  • Recruit respondents for qualitative and quantitative interviews 
  • Involve teams to participate in primary research and connect with teams to collect the most recent questions and hypothesis
  • Run interviews on regular basis to keep in touch with the client’s audience 
  • Run qualitative interview projects (full scale with brief, research design and delivery)
  • Identify available tools the client can use to run online surveys
  • Create moving research summaries that bring research insights to life
  • Share user stories or insights summaries 
  • Impact client strategy and decision-making with impactful storytelling
  • Create videos, cut recordings to show the quotes, make photos of respondents
  • Put stories together highlighting key insights by visualizing research findings

  • 5+ year of experience in a research related role
  • Deep understanding quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and when to apply them
  • Experience conducting primary research and acting as a research moderator for participants with varying levels of seniority and backgrounds
  • Able to translate research summaries into compelling stories 
  • Clear understanding of how consumer insights fit into overall company strategy and initiatives
  • Ability to both wade in the muddy details but also synthesize information down to what's most important and appropriate for different stakeholders
  • Experience with email campaigns
  • Collaborative and a self-starter; can take things and run with it
  • Organized; someone who excels at creating a process and order around things
  • Communicative and social; someone who proactively approaches cross-functional partners, aligns stakeholders, onboards teams to new processes, and leads trainings
