About Headway*

1 in 4 Americans have a treatable mental health condition, but the majority of them don't get help because of access and affordability issues (80% of therapists don’t directly accept insurance). We're addressing this access problem by building a marketplace that deals with the messiness of insurance behind the scenes, so patients can get affordable in-person therapy covered by insurance.

We’ve raised funding from pre-eminent VCs (backers of Facebook, Linkedin, Slack, Uber, Oscar) and the nation’s most innovative digital healthcare entrepreneurs (founders of One Medical, Flatiron Health, Clover Health--plus the founders of Seamless and Giphy because who doesn't love delivery sushi and GIFs).

We're growing rapidly--we’re already the biggest therapy group in NYC, facilitating thousands of appointments--and in this role you’ll be a key driver of our long-term success by defining and developing the playbook for how Headway manages relationships with our therapists.

*The Role*

As the first member of our account management team, you will partner with the head of operations to define and develop account management at Headway. You will -

  • Build irreplaceable, long-term therapist relationships. As the first member of this team, help craft what success means for account management including developing systems, processes and best practices to ensure Headway therapists are successful in the short and long-term.
  • Deliver value-driven solutions; ensure therapists begin every interaction with Headway with a clear understanding of our purpose and conclude every interaction with tangible results or next steps
  • Lead efforts to develop and deepen relationships within our therapist community. Research, evaluate and execute offerings to deepen bonds within our therapist community.
  • Become a product and domain expert. Provide critical insights to product leadership or assume direct product leadership to enhance therapist product and respond to spoken and unspoken therapist needs.
  • In partnership with sales, develop therapist onboarding materials and processes. Partner with sales team to further develop educational and sales collateral.
  • Drive growth. Work with therapists to increase the number of hours they provide to Headway patients. Help plan for and assist in new market launches.
  • In partnership with the head of operations, define functional KPIs and deliver against them.


*Ideal Candidate*

  • 2+ years in consulting, account management, or project management with experience working with a wide range of clients and stakeholders
  • Experience in a client facing role and comfortable fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders and groups.
  • Excels in data-driven problem solving, written and verbal communication, relationship-building and project management.
  • Sharp analytical mind, client management and organizational skills, resourcefulness and a passion for solving the crisis in mental health  
  • Bonus points for startup experience, health care experience, or experience building products or processes.
