SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Fetch Robotics is a leading provider of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR's) that is revolutionizing the logistics industry. We are a young start-up growing at an incredibly rapid pace and we're looking for talented and enthusiastic people who are comfortable with a large degree of ownership and able to take risks. 

A successful Senior Electrical Engineer candidate will develop electronic and coding designs that include analog, power and digital circuit boards, embedded microprocessor firmware code, and will work closely with mechanical and software engineering departments. 

You will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software teams in order to define and develop hardware to evaluate new technologies and features. You will be a key contributor to the transition of hardware designs from concept, through prototype into production.

***Candidates must have 5+  years of Embedded Firmware experience***

Responsibilities

  • Ability to write low level embedded firmware to control real-time devices such as motors, sensors, etc as well as read inputs from various analog and digital sensor / image devices
  • Designing with SOC’s, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGA’s 
  • Processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial interfaces) 
  • High-speed signaling and camera electrical protocols (e.g., MIPI, LVDS, SDI) 
  • Sensors and transducers 
  • General digital and analog electrical design 
  • Working knowledge of best practices for PCB layout and construction 
  • Experience in taking designs from concept through manufacturing 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Build and test proof-of-concept and initial prototype hardware
  • Troubleshooting, defining and seeking resources to recognize and resolve electrical, mechanical and/or software improvement opportunities of a complete system
  • Interfacing with vendors and customers as needed
  • Collaboration with other disciplines within the company

Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical, Robotics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent 
  • 10+  years of hands on experience with 5+ years of firmware experience
  • Experience with C++ is a must.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and drawings
  • Experience with ECAD software, OrCAD, Eagle, Altium, or equivalent
  • Ability to write and review reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers & peers

Nice to Haves
  • Familiar with SQL, a plus, Familiar with mechanical CAD, a plus
  • Familiarity with robotics or motion control or PID control systems
  • Startup experience
