Title: Data Scientist- Customer and Digital Analytics
Company: Health and Wellness Consumer Goods Brand
Location: NYC

  • Customer Database is on Salesforce (both B2B and B2C customers)
  • Email database is Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • They use Grow platform for data visualization which is driven off Salesforce
  • Manage and mine DTC customer database for insights to drive better business decisions and optimize marketing ROIs
  • Maintain DTC customer database in partnership with IT/Platforms Director ensuring database growth (new customer info capture online and DTC channels), completeness and accuracy
  • Use statistical analysis and modeling efforts to uncover insights from large complex data sets (i.e., customer database, web and channel analytics), data storytelling, and implementing new data-driven strategies
  • Analyze customer data to drive in-depth understanding of demographic, purchase, and behavioral trends and profiles to inform key business and marketing decisions
  • Build customer cohorts based on key purchase behavior, relevant product affinity, and other relevant groupings to inform targeting programs
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing team to 
    • Develop segments/cohorts and audiences to effectively target relevant groups for prospecting and maximize RFM (recency, frequency, monetary spend) 
    • Develop and execute customer retention strategies to enhance customer growth and loyalty
    • Develop reactivation programs to further grow customer base
  • Manage website tagging and tracking to inform ecommerce performance and strategies
  • Partner with IT/Platforms Director to develop relevant business and marketing intelligence reporting for ecommerce properties
  • Experience in managing site tagging and Tableau with coding skills (not required but highly valued)
  • Can handle and manipulate large amounts of data and draw insights (the “so what’s”) to create strategies, programs, and recommendations
  • Strong understanding of customer databases (growth, maintenance)
  • Solid experience in Google Analytics platform and Salesforce (and Marketing Cloud)
  • Experience in statistical and visualization tools, e.g., Tableau, with coding skills (not required but highly valued)
  • Very strong statistical and modeling skills with proficiency in SQL, excel and at least one of the following: R, and/or Python.
  • Experience working in ecommerce/digital businesses and subscription-based business is a HUGE plus!!

Bachelor Degree in Analytics, Data Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics or something similar; MBA Preferred
