Data Architect Modeler (Supply Chain & Logistics Exp)

Very large supply chain and 3rd party logistics provider is hiring a Data Modeler / Data Architect for a 6 months+ contract assignment.  This contract could go long-term or even convert to permanent in the future.  
Will work at a large corporate office location in the North Fort Worth area, Monday-Friday (normal business hours with some flexibility, but not open to any remote or work-from-home schedule).  
Must have Supply Chain industry experience, as new data models that you will build, will be very specific to business functions within a supply chain / 3rd party logistics (transportation & warehouse management solutions) company.
 
As the Data Modeler / Data Architect, you will be responsible for collecting, understanding, modeling, documenting, and communicating the data requirements necessary to build and integrate data models for business processes, including performing data rationalization, defining data element standards, and collaborating with Functional SMEs, information stewards, data analysts, business analyst, product owners and application teams. This position is also responsible for developing the linkages (traceability) to the enterprise data models for application specific operational and analytical data models. He/She must have experience building and implementing enterprise data models, application relational data models, and data warehouse dimensional data models.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and deploy database models for application development to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
Provide support and coaching to junior data modelers
Be responsible for data classification, naming, design of the database, and the creation of DDL when needed.
Provide technical consulting for application teams for data naming, classification, design and handling as a part of the first line of defense for data controls in designing systems ensuring data base standards are followed
Provide technical SQL Scripts tuning support and data base modification recommendations when needed) to applications teams to improve performance and data quality
Recommend adjustment to the data base standards to address new business data needs or new database technologies.
Suggest and implement improvements in architecture, team processes and functions.
Work with stakeholders at various levels to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data ecosystem.
Incorporate agile data model needs from self-service data discovery based on modern data architecture.
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload

Transactional Applications Data Architecture / Modeling: 3 years (Required)
Enterprise Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical): 2 years (Required)
Transactional Applications Data Modeling (Logical, physical): 5 years (Required)
Dimensional Data Architecture / Modeling: 2 years (Required)
Strong SQL and SQL tuning skills: 3 years (Required)
Agile and waterfall project experience designing implementing data bases for transactional applications, data warehouses: 3 years  (Required), data lakes: 1 year (Preferred)
Erwin, Embarcadero or similar modeling tool: 2 years (Required)
SQL Server: 3 years (Required)
Azure: 1 year (Preferred)
Oracle: 1 year (Preferred)
Cosmo DB or similar: 2 years (Preferred)
Database synchronization / replication and associated tools as Attunity or Golden Gate (Preferred)
Transportation and Logistics Industry experience (Preferred)
BS/MS Computer Science, Information Systems or STEM  (Preferred)
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Experience architecting or supporting the development and deployment of an enterprise database system
Demonstrable experience in developing, validating, publishing, maintaining conceptual/logical/physical data models
Demonstrable experience using data modeling tools - e.g., ErWin, Embarcadero
Experience evaluating existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies
Experience with managing meta data
Demonstrable experience in developing, publishing, and maintaining artifacts / documentation
Work with solutions architects, technical leads, business analyst, software developers, DBAs to achieve project objectives - delivery dates, cost objectives, quality objectives, etc
Demonstrable experience working in Agile environments using SCRUM
