Labor Relations Specialist

Working with the Director of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day and recurring responsibilities of the Labor Relations department. The main focus of this role will be assisting and advising the Production
Solutions team and their clients on Labor Relations issues.

Coming to us with a vast knowledge on labor economics, wage data, labor law, and collective bargaining trends, the labor relations specialist will interpret and administer client contracts with respect to grievances, wages or salaries, employee welfare, healthcare benefits, pensions, union practices, and other stipulations. The labor
relations specialist is vital to the preparing of information for our clients to utilize during the collective bargaining process.

This role will also assist in developing labor policies, overseeing the management of industrial labor relations, and will assist and advise on clients on:
  • Negotiation of collective bargaining agreements;
  • Managing grievance procedures and handling complaints;
  • Ensuring compliance with contracts;
  • Aspects of personnel policies;
  • Developing new or revised contracts;
  • Maintaining records of wage and salary surveys or correspondence;
  • Statistics

  • Report generation and analysis as requested by other departments and clients 
  • Creation and presentation of training & resource materials, thorough contract analysis, for use by Labor Relations and other departments
  • Creation of Client Data Sheets, Contract Reference Spreadsheets, Procedure Documentation
  • Point of contact for matters relating to establishing or improvement of interdepartmental procedures, questions and research relating to contribution rates, contract issues, and reporting
  • Ensure all contractual updates are circulated to all the appropriate internal individuals
  • Verify appropriate client set-up for Pension and Health plans
  • Serve as back-up for Director of Labor Relations as needed
  • Assist Labor Relations senior leadership with client contact and follow-up for project and contract information
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • 2-3 years’ Labor Relations experience in Entertainment Industry or multi-union environment
  • Some Labor Law knowledge specific to Entertainment Industry required
  • Ability to understand Collective Bargaining Agreement details
  • Ability to interpret Collective Bargaining Agreement details into payment coordination and pension and healthcare adherence
  •  Overtime may be required
