E-Discovery & IG Product Manager

Job Description:

Exterro is looking for an E-Discovery & IG Product Manager who will be responsible for the commercial success of our E-Discovery and Information Governance (IG) software product offerings. Built on a unified and integrated platform, Exterro's e-discovery and information governance software integrates with existing IT, HR and legal systems to deliver complete visibility into all critical data required for managing information assets more efficiently. 

As Product Manager, you will guide a team that is charged with a product line contribution. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your E-discovery industry experience and your contacts with clients, partners and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product offerings, working closely with the sales channel and key clients.

A product manager's key role is strategic, not tactical. The other organizations will support your strategic efforts.

Key Responsibilities: 
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Deep understanding of the E-Discovery & IG market, corporate legal teams, law firms, service providers and the competitive landscape. 
  • Maintain a pulse on the ever-changing competitive landscape and ecosystem, in order to identify strategic areas of focus for new products
  • Gather and synthesize product feedback and intelligence from the marketplace and leverage it to build differentiators.
  • Working across teams to formulate product strategy and roadmaps, including the definition of pricing and go-to-market strategies.
  • Managing the entire product line lifecycle from strategic planning and tactical activities through approvals, development, release and maintenance, defining and prioritizing the product roadmaps and backlogs for your segment.
  • Collaborating with the technical and product development teams to define, design, accept and adapt features and ensure these requirements are built into the product roadmap.
  • Manage alpha and beta testing of new product releases
  • Actively participate in client discussions as needed to gather first-hand product feedback, as well as highlight relevant new product releases that support the client’s business objectives
  • Initiate and foster relationships with key clients and partners.  
  • Continually educate the sales and marketing organization on the value of the software and associated pricing model.
  • Serving as the voice of the customer and providing business perspective on the product line’s value, market differentiations and pricing strategies. 
  • Collaborating with the technical and product development teams to define, design, accept and adapt features and ensure these requirements are built into the product roadmap.
  • Working with Sales to understand the needs of prospects and win new business.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and teams to ensure go-to-market plans move from concept to execution, including the development of required sales enablement materials and client-facing collaterals.
 

Skills and Experience:  

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of product marketing or product management experience in the enterprise software applications market. Computer Science or Engineering degree from accredited university. MBA a plus.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Big Data, E-discovery, and IG software market.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience interacting with cross-functional teams at all levels – technical, professional and executive.
  • Extremely outbound and client-focused mindset
  • Highly motivated, and ambitious; and can deal with a lot of ambiguity.
  • Must be passionate & enthusiastic with a "hands on approach."
  • Ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to self-manage, and succeed in a highly matrix-ed and entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to define, refine, and effectively communicate high dollar value propositions.
