UX Researcher

COMPANY

EverlyWell provides consumer-initiated at-home laboratory testing with easy-to-read and actionable results. We are at the forefront of personalized health, transforming the $25B lab testing industry. We’re here to empower people to take control of their health by making lab testing easy to access, understand, and afford.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are hiring a UX Researcher to conduct ongoing generative and evaluative research that drives a world-class product and service experience. Tactically, the UX Researcher will be responsible for the recruitment and scheduling of consumers for testing, research documentation, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to help build out the backbone of an empathetic design research organization.  The UX Researcher will lead research protocols and synthesize results consumable by the broader organization. Strategically, the UX Researcher will work with members of the product team to transform design research insights into insightful experiences that improve consumer health and engagement.

Reporting directly to the UX Director, you will be part of a small but mighty and fast-paced design team. Unlike working with large corporations and design teams, your work will more quickly impact products and consumers. Your ability to synthesize and communicate research insights can have both an outsized effect on product and your ability to become a leader in the design organization.

We are in high growth, startup mode and need someone who is willing to get their hands dirty. If you are passionate about improving healthcare through design and looking for an opportunity to learn, build, optimize, and grow, EverlyWell is the place for you.

What You’ll Do:

Support Evaluative Product and Service Research
  • Write discussion guides to guide usability and think-aloud testing based on the needs of the business and upcoming sprints.
  • Conduct usability and think-aloud testing in the office, around Austin, and in consumer’s homes.
  • Maintain documentation of all user testing sessions in an easy-to-access format to support synthesis and collateral generation.
  • Support, and eventually lead, synthesis processes related to data collected during the research process.

Support Generative Research Efforts
  • Be a sponge, in your ability and desire to intake knowledge and insights from cross-functional information streams and competitive analysis.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including product, lab operations, marketing, customer service, and others to proactively identify their research needs.
  • Conduct generative research activities, including participatory research methods, to drive towards the needs of consumers.
  • Find and execute on novel ways to observe “real behaviors” of consumers across the EverlyWell service experience.

Inform Product & Service Innovation
  • Deliver insights related to research in the form of office-wide presentations that drive awareness of the “Voice of the Customer”.
  • Highlight, via wireframes and low fidelity prototypes, what these insights could mean for the evolution of the business.
  • Lead workshops related to design research and ideation.
  • Synthesize and maintain “best” ideas for further incubation and backlog.

Your Education & Experience:

  • 2-5 years of UX Research experience
  • A degree or certificate in UX, interaction design, human-centered design,  or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability as a project manager and empath who can quickly build relationships with a diverse set of individuals
  • Proficient in design research and usability testing methods
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced startup environment a plus
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to move fast, synthesize research quickly, and present insights to a broad audience.

We love working here because…

  • We believe in the EverlyWell mission to make lab testing affordable, accessible, and insightful for all Americans
  • Our individual contributions have an outsized impact given our current size and scale
  • High-quality work is the rule, not the exception
