Purchasing / Procurement Associate - Entry Level

Our client has over 20 years of experience providing building automation solutions across a variety of industries.  They are privately held and focus on the Upstate NY region.

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, procuring material for work in progress, administering subcontracts and working closely with engineering and project management staff. 

  • Receive, document, verify and store stock 
  • Monitor stock levels in warehouse and replenish as needed
  • Maintain strong working relationships with vendors
  • Manage purchasing agreements with vendors
  • Work closely with the team to ensure they have the necessary parts
  • Coordinate deliveries to and from job sites
  • Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs
  • Serve as an inside sales resource for our replacement parts business
  • Manage the warranty process 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a purchasing role
  • Excellent communication, organization and negotiation skills
  • Proven history of effective supply management
  • Experience with SAGE and Office 365 is a plus
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of engineers and project managers
  • Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs
