We are currently looking for a Branch Manager in the Des Moines area to develop and maintain relationships with customers and handle operational activities throughout the branch.
Job Description:
- Manage the overall operations of the branch and satellite location
- Develop ways to increase profitability of the branch and motivate employees to do the same
- Motivate, manage, and train employees
- Build and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and sister locations
- Receive and process requests directly from customers for price quotations, product availability, orders, material returns, billing corrections, product information, order changes, and cancellations
- Work with customer to resolve any issues
- Coordinate delivery and/or pick up of customer orders with operations teams
- Maintain adequate supply of product samples and literature
- Review all orders to forecast additional customer needs
- Interact with sister branches when necessary on inventory issues and deliveries
- Maintain adequate product stock at branch locations
- Unload trucks and stock inventory and setup and maintain store displays
- Develop a working knowledge of available products
- Act as safety leader and ensure all policies and protocols are followed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- College degree preferred
- Previous experience supervising employees preferred
- Ability to motivate a team
- Ability to delegate and ensure tasks are accomplished
- Previous front-line customer service experience
- Previous sales experience and operations experience required
- Experience in building materials and distribution is required
- Must be able to communicate and follow-up with co-workers, customers, and vendors
- Must be able to learn and retain vast amounts of product information
- Driver's license required
- Ability to operate a forklift
