Senior Compliance Manager

  • Oversee all daily compliance matters to ensure EMQ is operating compliantly with the applicable regulations and internal standard policies to minimize potential compliance risks
  • Support new business initiatives by assuming responsibilities for all compliance related issues with new corridors and facilitating the corresponding compliance controls
  • Work with business partner’s compliance teams to manage all new partner compliance-related activities, including the AML due diligence questionnaire during business partner’s onboarding process and the annual review cycle
  • Protect EMQ from compliance risks by maintaining good relationships with regulators in jurisdictions where EMQ operates, such as Singapore, Indonesia, and Hong Kong to clarify the potential risks and providing comments to business units
  • Assist in enhancing and overseeing anti-money laundering control systems to prevent potential money laundering risk and ensure proper controls are well implemented
  • Oversee all matters in connection with routine compliance inspections conducted by the regulators and external auditors, and fulfill/monitor the regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring the reporting is timely made and with accuracy
  • Develop compliance manuals and review compliance related policies/standards on a regular basis as well as comment on internal standards from compliance perspectives
  • Undertake regular reviews of compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements, and report to management if any deficiencies and/or risks exist
  • Continually monitor regulatory requirements and distribute new regulation circulars published by the regulators to relevant functions and update the relevant procedures when regulations change
  • Perform AML transactions monitoring and conduct timely testing of AML controls
  • Support and conduct compliance training

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or related fields
  • 10-15 years of relevant working experience in legal, compliance, and/or audit (experience in cross border remittances/payments a plus, but not a requirement)
  • Good knowledge of AML/KYC and regulation interpretation is preferable
  • Fluent in English (proficiency in Mandarin a plus, but not a requirement)
  • Attention to details and good interpersonal skills
  • Team player with a good analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
