Job Summary

The Systems Administrator at Empower Pharmacy is responsible for providing hardware, software, and networking support, including troubleshooting, installation, configuration, automated testing and maintenance of network VLANs/subnets, workstations, laptops, printers, server services/daemons and mobile devices used in the day-to-day operations of the business. Daily tasks include but are not limited to network security and QoS design, software bundling, deployment/installation, and testing of computer systems while drafting specification documents, protocols, and procedure guidelines based on industry standards. This role provides hands-on assistance with relocation and software deployment of workstations, network printer clusters and other peripherals including scientific instruments and IoT devices within the facility. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain staff directory services and authentication management by implementing an organization-wide GSuite, IdentityServer4 and LDAP policy integration
  • Deploy/install/compile/build, image, test and maintain a variety of custom and sourced hardware and software systems, including; servers, laptops, workstations, communication equipment, smartphones, IoT devices, scientific instruments and office equipment
  • Perform diagnostic tests, reconfigure and repair mission-critical hardware systems
  • Manage workstation setup process and software versions for staff by bundling hardware and software configurations based on hardware models
  • Implement and maintain an on-field hardware inventory database and catalog up-to-date deployable drivers and system images
  • Provide staff and customer support both remotely, via email, phone, digital meetings, and in-person
  • Relocate users as required when they are assigned to new office or work area. This includes breaking down, transporting and setting equipment, checking connectivity, and ensuring satisfactory operational status of user base
  • Assist staff in troubleshooting and resolving problems with hardware, software, office and communications equipment, network and remote connectivity
  • Responsible for administration and internal support of the Company’s workstations, printers, servers, wireless access points, phones, conference rooms, and related equipment
  • Ensure that all information systems/technologies and networks operate according to industry standards and security policies
  • Create and run automated QA tests for custom software and configurations
  • Have a deep understanding of networking, ethernet frames, VLANs, enterprise switches, routers, IGMP Snooping/Multicast cloning/UDP, TCP, QoS and DHCP protocols
  • Have a deep understanding of RSA/AES encryption mechanisms, SSAE16 (SOC 1, 2 and 3) and HIPAA system security compliance
  • Backup and validate restore integrity of core company data
  • Audit running software configurations for CVE exploits and perform penetration testing in sandbox environments
  • Test and roll out patches and upgrades for mission critical systems while guaranteeing no downtime
  • Perform other duties as assigned to provide technical support to Empower Pharmacy 
 
Qualifications

  • 10 years of hands-on technical experience in technology support or related field
  • Working knowledge of standard end user hardware and software and is able to address most issues in a self-directed manner
  • In-depth software and hardware knowledge 
  • Deep understanding of system imaging, offline driver management, and deployment automation 
  • Have a deep understanding of networking, ethernet frames, VLANs, switches, routers, IGMP Snooping/Multicast cloning/UDP, TCP, QoS and DHCP protocols
  • Understand encryption mechanisms and HIPAA compliant system security 
  • FPGA, ADC and Microcontroller related experience a plus 
  • In-depth PowerShell or BASH scripting knowledge and experience
  • ECMAScript knowledge a plus
