Job Summary

The Sales Operations Manager (SOM) is charged with ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of company sales.  The SOM is responsible for managing the people, processes, and technologies that constitute the Sales Department located inside the pharmacy call center.  The inside Sales Department consists of individual teams who are responsible for executing the unique processes that maintain the efficiency and create sales opportunities. The SOM is our resident sales technology expert and master of efficiency, helping sales leaders make data-driven decisions while optimizing net revenue generated by inside sales teams.

Responsibilities 

  • Reports to the Director of Sales 
  • Direct reports- inside sales employees including Intake, Inside Sales Representatives, and Account Management 
  • CRM implementation and management 
  • Implement and update sales operating procedures and best practices 
  • Lead management and distribution 
  • Maintain lead profiles to ensure that fields are updated correctly; find and delete duplicate leads; manage custom fields
  • Campaign planning, execution, and follow up 
  • Manage lead and account assignment rules 
  • Ensure all expected revenue and performance KPIs are exceeded 
  • Improve productivity by evaluating and implementing sales technologies
  • Help sales leaders make data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to enable salespeople 
  • Standardize sales data into custom reports and create a reporting dashboard to help leaders visualize data from all sales software platforms 
  • Always prepared to present data in visual format to directors and direct reports 
  • Implement planned sales strategies based on analytics and customer requests 
  • Handles escalated customer communication and contacts customers to help resolve advanced questions.  
  • Prepare, review and monitor various documents such as contracts and other documents
  • Remains updated of any regulatory changes and adjusts operational processes to meet new requirements
  • Continually trains direct reports and provides the necessary resources to do the job accurately 
  • Collaborates with Field Sales Managers to ensure CRM data is properly entered 
  • Understands how to always communicate facts and never invalidated claims through direct reports or directly

Qualifications - Experience/Training/Education/Etc.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales, information systems, and business development 
  • Minimum 3 years experience with business process implementation and data optimization 
  • Experience developing and deploying sales processes and best practices
  • Experience managing analytics and presenting data
  • Experience in manufacturing; pharmaceutical; or cGMP preferred 
  • College education required (B.S./ B.A.) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with CRM software
