Director of Account Services

We are seeking a Director of Account Services to join our client’s team in Torrance, CA. The Director of Account Services will hire and lead an account services team to secure and grow  key accounts in the agency while managing, mentoring, and coaching each team member. You  will develop relationships with our key clients as a representative of the management team,  tweak and manage the successful standardization of the overall client experience as provided  by the agency, grow the existing account base through the current account staff in terms of  revenue and services provided, and participate in both new business and client strategy  development, presentation, and delivery. 
Client Engagement and Management 
  • Develop positive, trusting, value-add relationships with Clients 
  • Consistently build and deepen relationships at all levels within Client organization, “owning” senior and executive level 
  • Reinforce position of “trusted advisor” and consultant as you offer marketing and business solutions to help drive Clients’ business growth 
Account Growth 
  • Provide strategic leadership required to identify key growth accounts and set revenue targets 
  • Advise and coach Account Managers to qualify, develop and grow new revenue opportunities 
  • Contribute to, direct, create and support presentations and proposals for both existing Client and new business opportunities 
Internal Leadership, Communication & Innovation 
  • Provide leadership necessary to direct and motivate accounts and strategy team to contribute and deliver absolute best work while exceeding client expectations 
  • Responsible for effectively translating, communicating, and prioritizing client requirements to teams 
  • Drive culture of continuous improvement through focus on best practices and knowledge sharing 
  • Collaborate with Design, Production and Finance teams 
  • Provide education and direction on goals and objectives to team 
  • Consistently motivate internal teams and actively promote innovation, new thinking and advancement of skills 
  • Review and approve all proposals 
  • Attend briefings, kick-off calls and debrief calls and meetings as needed 
  • Develop and oversee the event budget throughout a program’s lifecycle 
  • Maintain regular update/status meetings with team 
  • Communicate plans and outcomes to other members of the executive team 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications preferred 
  • 10+ years of experience aligned with expectations in an agency environment 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated experience successfully leading and converting new business opportunities, understanding all stages of the new business process, and successfully scaling teams and business operations to support growth 
  • Solid understanding of the operational processes and running of a creatively-driven agency 
  • Solid understanding of business finances and accounting practices 
  • Exceptional relationship builder with the ability to operate at a senior and strategic level with key clients and help resolve issues smoothly and effectively 
  • Clear communicator who is able to give strong and consistent direction to a team. 
  • Comfortable delegating responsibilities 
  • Strategic thinker with an excellent understanding of key industry influences and the ability to apply this thinking to a variety of clients and brands 
  • Excellent people manager with ability to recruit and retain high functioning employees; naturally driven to inspire, motivate, and mentor
