Senior Network Engineer

Our client seeks a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious network engineer who will work alongside the IT support team to ensure maximum performance of a high traffic network infrastructure while maintaining system integrity. Internal networks include computer, voice, and firewall. The ideal candidate for the position of Sr. Network Engineer is agreeable, helpful, and efficient as well as having in-depth knowledge of networks with a focus on high-level design and planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement, and maintain network infrastructure
Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements
Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network
Direct system installation
Select and install appropriate data communications components configured to meet the company’s needs
Program routers, switches, and other network hardware
Configure DNS servers
Maintain firewall and manage security related to hacking
Define, document, and enforce system standards
Manage owned domain names
Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve the resilience of Cisco Wired/Wireless Networks
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages
Schedule updates and upgrades
Collaborate with network architects to optimize system performance
Engage in data network fault investigations
Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access
Report network operation status based on project management and priority information

Bachelor’s degree in network administration, information technology, or computer science
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of ASA Firewalls and Cisco WiFi technologies
Experience with public cloud networking (AWS, GCP)
Experience with site-to-site and client-access VPN (IPSec, OpenVPN, SSL)
Experience with Cisco Wireless is required
Monitor network performance and integrity
Increase job knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities, attend conferences, and read professional industry publications
Open to being on call outside of regular working hours as well as occasional nights and weekends in the office
Client facing experience interfacing with external customer to help troubleshoot overall network issues
Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Flexibility to help at all levels of support, including some desktop/desk-side tickets depending on volume
Ability to perform well under pressure
Have high attention to detail
Be a confident communicator
Work well independently and in team settings
