Eastern is looking for candidates for it's Assistant Editor Program for the 2018 Spring Rotation.
The Assistant Editor Program (AEP) is a program designed for editor development for those expressing strong abilities in storytelling.
Eastern has established the Assistant Editor Program (AEP), which has designed to take candidates with ambition and natural storytelling abilities, and provide these individuals with the necessary technical skills, and offer quick promotional opportunities for those demonstrating the right stuff. The program begins at an Internship level, and then provides opportunities within our structured Assistant Editing teams, which could eventually lead to editing & producing on one of our series.
The first phase of this program is a 3-day candidacy, which will run Wednesday-through-Friday between the hours of 11am to 7pm. You’ll be asked to produce content inside Avid Media Composer on a Mac, and perform the basics of editing and managing media.
At the end of the 3-days, you’ll be tasked to produce short creative edits of material. Material is blindly submitted to the executive team who will critique the work, and look for the strongest storytellers. Those chosen will be asked to come in as a staff member, and begin training with our amazing editorial team!
If you would like to participate, we will need a few of the following requirements.
Please forward along the following if you haven’t already:
- Samples of some of your featured work
- A resume with any previous work history
- A short 200-word essay on what drives you as a creative story-teller, and why you think you would be a good candidate for our program.
We will be reviewing essays and basing our selection of candidates on each of the entries. We’ll be assessing essays based on structural organization, punctuation, and creativity.
The next rotation is set to begin Wednesday 4/4 until Tuesday 4/10.
We hope you’re excited about this opportunity and the potential growth it provides!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions in regards to the Program.
