Head of Performance Marketing

Organize and lead performance marketing for the world’s most popular language learning platform

We are seeking a highly experienced, data driven marketer to help us reach even more language learners. As our resident expert, you will leverage your skills including paid advertising, lifecycle marketing, ASO, SEO and more to reach and activate new users. Reporting to the CMO, you will partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify opportunities to optimize acquisition and retention.

You will think outside the box and come up with new tactics and campaigns. You will creatively generate hypotheses and use a data-driven approach to understand consumer behavior, formulate and design A/B tests and produce winning results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Grow learner base and subscribers on ad-supported and core subscription products through paid media and owned channels
  • Identify, build and execute media strategies on high value segments focused on improving overall MAU’s and active subscribers
  • Build and own customer acquisition P&L 
  • Optimize media spend and user experience focused on driving maximum efficiency of media spent
  • Work with internal analytic teams to identify proper reporting structures for direct and attributed media buys
  • Identify new channels of opportunity to invest and find incremental user growth with strong ROI
  • Drive improvements in churn reduction, re-engagement, and new user acquisition
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative insights, including key inputs and reporting; monitoring growth trends and measuring all marketing campaigns through to ROI
  • Partner with internal creative to develop and produce creative assets for ad campaigns

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of data-driven marketing experience, with a heavy emphasis on mobile acquisition and subscription services
  • Proven track record leading a team that runs paid media, including SEM, paid social and display, and affiliate channels
  • Demonstrated mastery of multi-channel media strategy, optimization and ROI
  • Proven ability to oversee marketing technology, customer journey, multi-touch attribution, and cross- channel ad sequencing
  • Deep understanding of digital media ecosystem (e.g. DSPs, DMPs, third-party data providers, as well as driving and measuring performance (e.g. lookalike models, last-click vs multi-touch attribution models)
  • Experience designing and implementing A/B and multivariate tests
