Product Marketing Director

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, Product Marketing at Dstillery is responsible for developing the company’s product positioning and messaging, product packaging, and GTM strategies for new markets as well as for existing customers. This highly visible function requires extensive cross-departmental collaboration across all levels (on the ground to C-suite executives) of the entire organization—from Sales and Marketing to Product Management and Strategic Development. As we enter new markets, Product Marketing must effectively manage multiple product lines, with a critical focus on product adoption and revenue generation.


  • Product Marketing Leadership – Provide strong Product Marketing representation among executives and the rest of the organization around go to market opportunities and foster discipline
    • Be results oriented, focused, creative, highly communicative and independent – while being able to enlist the support of others
    • Bridge Sales & Product to drive a consistent and compelling product message
    • Define and evolve the product marketing methodology to ensure best practices are incorporated across the organization
  • Market Planning & Intelligence – Serve as the expert on buyers: how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on competition and how to crush them
    • Buyers
      • Market sizing & segmentation
      • Through cross-functional collaboration (e.g. Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Product Management, etc.), define and determine customer needs, experience and expectations through primary and secondary research
    • Competition
    • Market analysis
    • Drive market research and competitive analysis, including win/loss (engaging third parties as necessary), assessing market dynamics and opportunities
    • Translate market research of direct and adjacent products to establish competitive baselines around customer experience, positioning and expectations
  • Positioning & Product Packaging – Develop messaging and product offerings that differentiate Dstillery’s solutions in the market, mapped back to the problems we solve for different audience segments
    • Engage with internal stakeholders, prospects and customers to ensure messaging and packaging (the offering and pricing) fulfill current and emerging market demands
    • Develop and drive an integrated communication plan across the product lifecycle by stakeholder (internal and external) to drive awareness and adoption
  • Sales Enablement – Communicate the value proposition of Dstillery’s solutions to Sales and work with Marketing’s team members to develop the tools necessary to support their selling efforts at various stages of the buying cycle
    • Organizational Alignment
    • Communicate Dstillery’s overall positioning and strategy
    • In support of company’s overall strategy, work with Sales to understand customer needs and build effective tools and materials to accelerate deals
    • Materials. Manage the development of high quality, solutions-focused sales tools including collateral, presentations, prospect profiles, messaging briefs, positioning documents, demos, webinars, videos, white papers, website, etc.
  • Training – Develop and manage sales training programs that will quickly ramp staff as effective sellers on Dstillery’s products and services


  • 3-5+ years in a product marketing, product operations or marketing role with a SaaS company
  • You must have some experience with Technical Sales, Sales Enablement, Technical Support or Technical Marketing
  • Understanding of advertising and marketing technology market and buyer dynamics
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills
  • Oriented towards making an impact and producing results

  • Startup/entrepreneurial personality: smart, ethical, friendly, hard-working and proactive
  • Self motivated and able to take initiative without needing a high level of supervision
