The Role
The Executive Creative Director will oversee and direct conceptual and design cross-disciplinary teams to concept and create unique content that drives consumer attention in digital/social platforms. This role will ultimately be responsible for the quality of ideas and the end-to-end digital marketing, social media, and mobile design.

 In addition to the daily responsibilities of overseeing the creative product, the Executive Creative Director will be directly involved in new business pitches. The ECD will have management duties and will also mentor additional creatives throughout the process.

As the leading digital design practitioner, the Executive Creative Director will combine first-class design expertise, creativity and thought leadership with commercial acumen and leadership abilities.

The overall objective is to direct, inspire, lead and support all levels of design and creative talent across the clients, defining and advancing a positive and highly productive design culture.  As a member of the company’s management team, you will be responsible for the presence of creative strategy in all of our digital and social services offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Champion creativity and excellent customer centricity.
  • Creatively direct concept designers/graphic designers/art-workers harnessing their development and performance, in a manner that assures maximum efficiency and creativity.
  • Manage, supervise, review and audit the work of designers and art-workers to ensure the creative level expected is being met.
  • Drive maximum efficiency, productivity and the maintenance of the highest quality of creative concept, design and artwork.
  • Oversee, manage and review new creative concepts for both new and existing clients.
  • Undertake the design of digital-based collateral, to the client’s brief and exacting standards and within agreed time frames.
  • Work closely with clients during kick-off to create strong concepts from the initial briefing
  • Develop a deep understanding of target audiences and the clients marketing strategy to deliver high quality results that have an instant, positive impact on the consumer, promoting the product or brand.
  • Keep up-to-date with current social and design trend.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Operations Director to organize and prioritize staff, resources and workload, especially around deadlines.
  • Stay flexible, but responsible to client and staff, when responding to increases in workload/tight deadlines.
  • Build on our strong client relationships and be the equal creative partner of the Account Director 
  • Attend company meetings and social events.
  • Motivate and influence the creative team to constantly strive for excellence in performance.
  • Proactively monitor the quality of design projects being produced seek feedback from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Investigate, propose and implement innovative ways of delivering design services to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage and coordinate the sharing of knowledge and the facilitation of learning within the team and all other employees to improve business practices, refine processes, aid and promote the development of creative ideas and introduce new services.
  • Organize monthly work / successes / learnings presentations to the wider SMT team to showcase work.
  • Attend client meetings, present work, discuss needs and identify opportunities.
  • Work actively with the Creative Operations Director in coordinating the effective allocation of design resource, facilitating information from colleagues, business managers and staff. In order to provide effective resource support to meet client demands and to cover flexible working, vacation and leave requirements in the most economical manner.
  • Ensure all mandatory processes and guidelines are always followed by the creative team.  Be the final gatekeeper for all creative work before delivery.
  • Manage, train and mentor staff and oversee their professional development, offering knowledge, motivation, support and experience as required, including but not limited to their creative and technical skill, so as to increase productivity, staff retention and enhanced staff morale.
  • Ensure all staff members accurately record time sheets and show positive billable utilization-rates.

Skills/ Qualifications
  • A passion of major social networks for professional purposes (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • Keep aware of current events, trends, and general advertising culture
  • Hands on with a strong focus on digital & social media.
  • Experienced in directing complex, commercial, design projects involving senior stakeholders and interdisciplinary creative teams.
  • Highly creative with the ability to generate ideas and practically contribute to design details, demonstrating exceptional pure social media design skills.
  • Strong strategic, conceptual skills and a solid knowledge of the digital landscape.
  • Possess deep technical design skills. 
  • Communicate and liaise with all levels in the business.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, including outside the design team.
  • Digital and social fluency with an understanding of how to drive conversation and engagement across platforms via design and written word
  • Understanding of UX/CX across multiple platforms and customer journey
  • Understanding of how analytics feeds into campaign strategies
  • Exude executive level written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Proficient in Adobe CC, Microsoft Office and other related software.
  • A knowledge of design for Digital.
  • Driven, proactive, helpful, and enthusiastic team player.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
