Job Summary
Help us ensure we have the supplies we need to achieve “excellence in health, every time.” In this role, you will facilitate the distribution of goods by shipping and receiving, filling requisitions/orders, unpacking, checking, storing and distributing supplies/goods.
As the successful candidate, your duties will include:
• Receiving, unpacking and checking incoming materials from suppliers; ensuring that supplies/goods are delivered as per specifications; and completing related paper work such as signing delivery slips. Sorting items; rotating stock and ensuring inventory areas are clean and tidy.
• Checking invoices against orders and supplies/goods and resolving discrepancies with suppliers and/or departments.
• Assembling, issuing and shipping supplies/goods from requisition requests received; loading orders onto carts for delivery; and completing documentation.
• Identifying damaged/spoiled goods and advising appropriate personnel; arranging for delivery and return of loan and return items; returning damaged or spoiled goods to supplier as required/directed and completing appropriate documentation.
• Counting inventory and maintaining inventory records. Replenishing stock based on established minimum/maximum levels and advising when established re-order points are reached in accordance with established procedures; making adjustments to stock items in accordance with established guidelines; recommending changes to inventory items and/or levels.
• Maintaining records and providing information regarding stores activities; ensuring correct coding on stock items; maintaining security measures.
• Picking up and delivering supplies, including by using 10,0000 lbs / 4536 kg trucks.
• Performing routine inspection/maintenance duties on vehicles and equipment such as securing load, cleaning, checking belts, lights and tires and maintaining fluid levels; recommending vehicle and equipment repairs. Maintaining related documentation such as log books.
• Providing input/feedback to the Manager (or designate) on work procedures and opportunities for process improvement.
• Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
• Grade 12 and one year’s recent related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
