Content Marketing Analyst

DockYard, Inc. is searching for an extraordinary, tech-savvy Content Marketing Analyst to join our growing global team!

We are looking for a creative marketer who can bring their passion and interest in technology to DockYard. As a top tier web app developer based in Boston (with remote employees throughout the US and Europe), we employ exceptionally talented teams of designers, software engineers, and project managers to work on groundbreaking projects for some of the world’s most innovative organizations such as Netflix, Flywheel, Nasdaq, McGraw-Hill and WNYC.

What you’ll do:
  • This role will initially focus on managing content marketing (writing and editing thought leadership, blog posts, case studies, etc.) as well as social marketing and email marketing
  • Create distinct messaging and content that explains trends in web app design and development, coding and various technologies
  • Learn and understand our clients’ unique needs and purchase motivators so that content can attract leads that deliver sales
  • Leverage content to differentiate DockYard in the market 
  • Determine which content performs best and make future recommendations based on learnings 
  • Identify gaps in existing content and manage and execute editorial plan and content calendar
  • Ensure all content and social marketing aligns with DockYard’s brand attributes and high-level marketing strategy
  • Ensure that appropriate keywords are included in all copy to drive organic search
  • Develop strong relationships with other DockYarders with whom you’ll collaborate to create content
  • Identify compelling imagery to associate with blog and social posts, including conceptualizing visually interesting ways to present data and craft infographics
  • Help identify ways to market DockYard and disseminate content through new channels including industry and news outlets, as well discover other creative communication opportunities
  • Help explore and research other miscellaneous ideas for attracting qualified leads
  • Conduct ad hoc research on industry trends, competitors, advertising opportunities, trends in online and social marketing, and other topics
  • Assist in generating ideas to increase engagement on DockYard’s website
  • From time to time, help manage other marketing channels such as display / banner advertising, sponsorships, organizing logistics for conferences, etc. 
  • Assist with various other administrative tasks related to marketing
  • Stay abreast of trends in web design, web development, web apps, organic search, social media, and digital marketing
  • Help attract industry interest in career opportunities

What we’re looking for:
  • 3-5 years of marketing experience
  • Outstanding abilities in writing succinct, easy to skim marketing copy required
  • Editorial mindset and understanding of what resonates with target audiences 
  • Excellent English language grammar and proofreading skills required
  • Proficiency in and love of social media required
  • Uncanny knack for growing social audiences
  • Flair for visual design, photography and visual data presentation
  • Basic understanding of common marketing concepts and tactics
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in tracking and measuring results, especially for social and email marketing
  • Ability to research and quickly grasp and understand new and rapidly evolving technologies and trends 
  • Experience with WordPress, Google analytics, LinkedIn, Slideshare, and top social channels strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Strong oral communication skills 
  • Integrity and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable in a 100% remote (work from home) environment

Nice to haves:
  • Experience in web development, web design, coding, software, technology or professional services industries
  • Understanding of organic search
  • Preference for candidates from top advertising agencies or consulting firms  
  • We will also consider exceptional copywriters, content strategists, editors, journalists, web designers or coders who want to transition into marketing
