Network Security Engineer

  • CFS is assisting our client, a global aviation company, with their search for a Network Security Engineer. This company is on the verge of making very exciting changes to the way they operate so they can position themselves as the innovation leader in their industry. Because of that, this Engineer will be a key piece to that initiative! 

    The Engineer will need to roll up their sleeves and dig in right away by developing strategies and architectures for the evolving enterprise-scale networks, their implementation, maintenance, and monitoring in support of mission-critical production environments and applications. 

    The Network Security Engineer's Responsibilities:
    • Maintain, configure and manage CISCO ASA firewalls 
    • Conduct network security monitoring and assist with incident response 
    • Perform packet and network traffic analysis using tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nmap, NetStat, ARP, Tracert and others 
    • Manage Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and other remote access technologies 
    • Support F5 BigIP load balancers 
    • Manage configurations and provide operational support for Cisco IOS as well as NX-OS switches 
    • Lead selection and use of new network and network security technologies 
    • Support network Disaster Recovery 
    • Monitoring network utilization and performance 
    • Oversee network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory 
    • Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to understand goals network requirements 
    • Develop network policies that align with business needs and the risk management strategy 
    • Assist with data center and headquarters network hardware installation and design optimization 

    Qualifications and Competencies 
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Security, Information Security, Information Technology or equivalent experience 
    • 10 years of IT network infrastructure work experience 
    • Strong CISCO ASA firewall work history 
    • CCNA, CCNP or CCIE Certifications desired 
    • F5 Load Balancer experience highly preferred 
    • Solid understanding of industry-standard network technologies 
    • Working knowledge of networking and transport protocols (i.e. SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD). 
    • Ability to produce architecture diagrams and requisite documentation
