We are looking for an Information Security Analyst to support our overall product and corporate strategy. In this role, you will serve as an internal technology and information security consultant to the organization. As a member of our engineering team, your responsibilities will include drafting security guidelines, ensuring compliance with the guidelines, training our staff on security requirements, responding in writing to prospect and customer security inquires and supporting our sales and marketing teams. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a repository of current information about our security capabilities, practices and policies to enable responses to questions from customers and prospective customers.
To be successful in this role, you have the following qualities:
- Exemplary writing skills - This position frequently requires responding to security questionnaires that are part of an RFP process and addressing questions appropriately.
- Strong knowledge of open source software, networking, computer architecture and security standards - you will help to design and enforce our security framework and its compliance with applicable standards such as HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC2 and SOX.
- Attention to detail and a desire to execute - We run a pretty lean environment in that everyone does a bit of everything. Sometimes you’ll play a part in major strategic discussions, other times you’ll be building a powerpoint deck for someone to present as part of a sales presentation. It all depends. Above all else, though, you want to get stuff done;
- Strategic, creative thinking - Some might think this runs counter to a desire to enforce standards, but you understand that no matter how big or small our headcount, no matter what the size of our budget, we will always be resource-constrained. There will always be more ideas than time to build them. You’ll spend your time thinking about how to meet our security requirements in the most effective and cost efficient manner. Furthermore you understand that security is a product feature and is a proactive component of a sales process.
Ideally, you’ve been there and done this before - you’ve administered security standards as a leader or amongst a team. You understand the difference between a WAF and an IP Firewall, between the HIPAA and the PCI standards, between encryption at rest and encryption in motion.
