IMPLEMENTER (aka Question Coder)

Implementers work closely with specifiers to create high-quality homework questions that will be seen online by tens of thousands of students and teachers. 

What you’ll do...

Implementers use their math skills and basic computer programming, as well as have an eye for detail to write the code that displays and grades our homework questions and provides feedback to students.

  • You'll code math questions that have been specified using our proprietary language. 
  • You’ll provide feedback and suggestions to improve questions.
  • You’ll find innovative ways to create new question types, make feature requests and report bugs.
  • You’ll respond to support tickets and assist professors.

What you’ll need...

Successful Implementers ask questions, collaborate with the team, brainstorm creative ways to implement questions, and have a critical eye for how best to present math questions to students. 

We are looking for the following:
  • Experience with basic computer programming in any language (ideally Javascript)
  • Strong interest in and understanding of math, up through integral calculus (the more the better)
  • Ability to use conceptual math knowledge and critical thinking skills to spot and correct errors in question prompts and solutions
  • Math teaching or tutoring experience is important
  • Troubleshooting or software support experience is helpful
  • Experience with any online math assessment tool is a plus (WeBWork, WebAssign, MyMathLab, et.al.)
