Guest Services Representative

  • $13.85/hour
  • Full Time, Part Time and Casual Positions available
    Positions available during operating season: April 1st to October 31st


    As a Guest Services Representative you are Deep Cove Kayak Centre’s first impression to any customer.  You will be expected to perform in a highly professional, positive and efficient manner to all customers and clients.  The Guest Services Representative position is suited to those who are efficient, organized and highly personable.


    Skills and Requirements

    • Previous customer service or sales experience, preferably in outdoor tourism industry 
    • A high level of organizational and problem solving skills 
    • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Capable and efficient with data entry 
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • An interest in the outdoor industry more specifically kayaking and or paddleboarding
    • Available on all stat and holiday weekends 


    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

    • Answer phones 
    • Make all reservations both in person and over the phone
    • Handling all cash and credit payments 
    • Restocking all retail merchandise
    • Checking phone messages
    • Reporting any low stock to supervisor
    • Keeping office clean (sweeping, dusting, taking out garbage regularly)
    • Ensuring every customer has signed our waiver properly 
    • Make sure numbers of boats to clients match 
    • Test that solo paddlers are knowledgeable on how to do proper rescues
    • Make sure every group, lesson and rental has paid or in the case of a group or school has been properly invoiced
    • Have knowledge of all of DCK policies and that you are enforcing them
