Principal Software Engineer

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives from assigned projects. Prepared detailed specifications for programs. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Has full technical knowledge and responsibility of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Understands the mission function for which the application is designed. Duties include instructing, directing and checking the work of other systems analysts and programming personnel. Responsible for quality assurance review and directing and monitoring the work of team members across various projects.

Clearance Required: An active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph.

Individual Capabilities Required:
• Eight years in increasingly complex and progressive experience as a Software Engineer in performing systems analysis, development, and implementation of software systems, to include the development and design of application software for prototyping, production, and architecture products. This experience includes software management, design, development, flow analysis, detailed design data flow diagrams, structure charts, and Program Description Language (PDL) for each module of the software system. 
• Ten years in increasingly complex and progressive experience as a Software Engineer in performing systems analysis, development, and implementation of software systems in the DOD/IC, to include the development and design of application software for prototyping, production, and architecture products. This experience includes software management, design, development, flow analysis, detailed design data flow diagrams, structure charts, and Program Description Language (PDL) for each module of the software system.
• 5 Years Agile or Software Prototype Development experience.
• Experience with Agile Suite including systems Jira and documentation with Confluence (Cent/OS Development, Atlassian Suite, Scalable Solutions, Rest, Continous Integration (Gradle, SonarQube, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience with Cloud deployment methods: Docker, Docker Swarm, Rancher, Kubernetes.
• Experience deliverying Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRCs).
• Experience with current and emerging technologies of interest to the NTOC.
• Four years of leadership experience (e.g. directing team members)
• Experience in solving various software related problems, generating and reviewing software designs for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness in light of objectives.
• Experience with Java and MongoDB
• Experience developing RESTFUL Web Services and continuous Integration experience (Jenkins preferred).

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Four (4) years of additional experience as an ISSO may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
