Originally founded in 2015, Wachsman is a global communications consultancy that specialises in blockchain, finance, and emerging technologies, with regional headquarters in Dublin, New York and Singapore. The firm has represented more than 150 blockchain-related companies, including some of the largest brands in the industry.
As Wachsman moves through expediential growth and regional expansion, we are looking to expand our global leadership team with a seasoned Finance Director to support its growth. This role will have teams in all three regions, with accountability for financial operations, processes, governance and policies.
Duties:
- Interpret complex financial data and provide insights, updates and information as needed.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions across the firm.
- Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist senior executives in creating strategic plans for the future.
- Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts management and approval for all offices.
- Assist with annual budget and monthly forecast preparation and analysis, establish and maintain KPI's, and analysis to measure performance and profitability.
- Gain a high-level understanding, oversight and implementation of financial processes across regions. Harmonize policies, procedures and tools across global teams, while implementing cost-effective best practices where necessary.
- Guide financial decisions in global offices by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Seek out strategies and practices to minimise financial risk.
- Accountability for all finance operations relating to business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy of the business.
- Maintain general ledger and historical financial records.
- Ensure that regular forecasts are prepared and are effectively articulated and managed.
- Proactively manage invoice collections.
- Remain abreast of business development information to build financial forecasts and business plans, and to ensure that the accounting for any business change is undertaken accurately and promptly within the group ledgers.
- Interact with customers, bankers, lawyers, and outside financial representatives as required.
- Work with outside accounting firms in support of their activities.
Skills & Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience in finance functions, preferably with experience within a banking, financial services, agency or consultancy environment.
- Chartered Accountant trained in a reputable practice.
- Exceptional work ethic and motivation to be innovative in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability and strong desire to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
- Extensive experience in and a strong command of Quickbooks.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel to develop financial modelling and forecasting, interactive spreadsheets, and professional presentations.
- Ability to develop professional presentations utilizing PowerPoint.
- Cryptocurrency/Fintech or start-up experience is a plus but not required.
- Globally minded with an understanding for working across geographies, time zones and cultures.
