Business Intelligence Architect
Data Society seeks a business intelligence expert with experience in data warehouse engineering and deployment to deliver cutting edge business intelligence tools and build cloud-based environments. Administrator-level experience with either Power BI, Tableau or another BI system is required. Experience configuring Microsoft Azure or AWS is strongly preferred. An ideal candidate will be ad advanced SQL user with experience writing DACS for Power BI.
- Architecting cloud environments with Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Setting up ETL processes to extract/ingest, manipulate, and present raw data
- Designing and deploying data schemas for data warehouses
- Using Power BI’s internal programming language DACS to summarize data and prepare it for display in dashboards
- Creating visualizations, geographical maps, summary tables and dashboards with Power BI
- Creating scenario analyses and data-driven models with Power BI
- Creating client presentation to empower data-driven decision-making
- Designing Power BI training materials
- Developing and delivering training seminars on Power BI
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience architecting and deploying cloud environments for data consolidation initiatives and developing data visualization dashboards. You enjoy working with clients, but also really enjoy digging into a problem and working with a team to design novel solutions. You can quickly understand what is important to the client and support improvement to key business drivers that will make a real impact. You enjoy explaining to people how to use data to make decisions and would enjoy teaching a class about it. You like working on different types of projects simultaneously and leading Azure/Power BI efforts with a variety of clients from manufacturers to health care organizations. You are comfortable taking direction from a project/program lead as well as serving as one yourself. You enjoy being part of a cross functional team of experts while owning responsibility for directing one or more members of that team. You like to provide strategic and tactical coaching and mentoring to others that work with you, for you, or for our clients.
Our home office is located in Washington DC close to McPherson Square metro station and is full of awesome perks like free food, a variety of beverages, and a dog friendly environment. The Business Intelligence Architect will work as part of our team both at our home office and at client sites. Some travel, including overnight, may be required.
