HR Generalist

Bentkey Ventures (The Daily Wire) is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our in-house Human Resources team. The HR Generalist will work closely alongside the Director of the HR department as well as the department’s other HR Generalist to assist with all internal and external HR-related matters to help ensure legal compliance of the company and promote healthy and prosperous team member relations and morale. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, highly organized and detail-oriented, possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, and has a passion for and background in HR. Responsibilities:

  • Talent acquisition and recruitment
    • Arrange job descriptions for new roles and update existing job descriptions as needed
    • Research new recruiting methods/platforms and identify most appropriate recruiting resources to use to fill open positions
    • Screen candidates and schedule interviews
    • Facilitate first interviews as needed
    • Conduct employee reference checks
    • Arrange offer letters and coordinate logistics for new hire’s first day
    • Administration of full on-boarding process for new hires
  • Payroll administration
    • Send hourly employees and supervisors bi-weekly time card reminders
    • Audit timecards of hourly employees submitted on a bi-weekly basis
    • Report necessary payroll updates to Namely payroll representative (new hires, terminations, hourly PTO requests, parking reimbursements, etc.)
    • Audit payroll report to ensure accuracy before submitting for processing
  • Maintenance and development of the company’s HRIS (Namely)
    • Maintain employee files and records
    • Prepare and/or analyze periodic reports for management as needed
  • Development and administration of new and pre-existing procedures and policies to help align the team with the strategic goals of the Company
  • Ensuring company is operating in legally sound manner with regards to employment practices
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Collaboration on employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
  • Management and coordination of employee review process
    • Track the employee review schedule and coordinate employee reviews
    • Facilitate employee reviews as needed
    • Manage employee review feedback to prepare monthly report for COO & head of HR
  • Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
  • Benefits orientation, training, and enrollment
  • Development, implementation, and management of company internship program
  • Monitoring of organization’s culture to attain company goals and promote employee satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
Experience & Requirements:

  • 3-5 years previous HR experience required
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field a plus
  • Background in Production/Entertainment industry a huge plus
  • A strength and comfortability for working with numbers (for payroll management purposes)
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of state and federal employment laws and practices
  • Dedication to keeping up-to-date with latest HR trends and best practices
  • Ability to identify, shape, and promote corporate culture
  • Ability to stay calm and work comfortably while under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making and conflict-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Namely (HRIS) a plus
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

 
Reports to: Director of Human Resources & Office Operations
Start date: Immediate
Employment type: Full-time; Exempt
Compensation: $55k-$65k; Dependent upon experience
