MD/DO Needed for Integrative Primary Care Clinic

  • We are currently searching for a full-time or part-time MD/DO to join an outstanding integrative primary care medical practice in downtown Chicago. This is an outstanding organization that has been providing alternative care to patients for over ten years. If you are looking for a different way to treat patients than traditional medicine this is the position for you!

    Our client sees patients of all ages with the focus on being a patient-focused center that uses functional medicine as a primary way of treating. In this position, you will work with the team of Physicians and other medical professionals on providing better outcomes. We pride ourselves on taking time with the patient to make sure we are treating the whole body. You will see an average of 12 to 20 patients a day depending on the type of patient encounter.

    We have a well-rounded staff of providers that include: Physicians, Nurse Practitioner, Massage Therapist, Social Worker, Naturopath Physician and Acupuncturist

    Position Responsibilities:
    • Provide chronic disease care from a Functional Medicine perspective by interviewing, assessing, and treating clinical patients, meeting their medical needs, and improving their quality of life
    • Perform a physical exam based upon the age and patient history
    • Initiate appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness
    • Order, interpret and evaluate laboratory test and other diagnostic studies to assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
    • Develop a treatment plan along with the patient and significant others
    • Perform and interpret, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from the normal, common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes as privileged by CCF Credentialing Board
    • Provide information and answer routine questions of patients regarding their disease, including preventive health maintenance topics such as diet, weight, smoking, and topics related to Functional Medicine, with basic recommendations
    • Educate patients regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards
    • Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between the patient and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team or with other specialty areas as necessary

    Qualifications & Experience Needed
    • Graduate of an approved Medical School
    • Training completed in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
    • Illinois State license to practice
    • Prescriptive authority from the state board and certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine or willing to become certified
    • Functional Medicine experience in a practice setting
    • A strong interest in treating patients with more holistic
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to function in a changing environment
