    NYC Cyber Command was created in 2017 by Executive Order to lead the City’s cyber defense efforts, working across more than 100 agencies and offices to prevent, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats. NYC Cyber Command is committed to protecting NYC infrastructure and critical systems from malicious attacks through the use of the latest technologies, public-private partnerships, and regular training and exercises for City employees.

    Job Description
    NYC3 rapid growth as an agency requires administrative support in keeping all employees properly on-boarded, connected, and organized. The ideal candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple initiatives in a thorough and organized fashion. NYC Cyber Command requires someone who has the ability to work with, understand, and improve the asset management program to creating new provisioning processes and functions for NYC3.

    Responsibilities will include:
    ● Inventory, secure, and track all of NYC3’s hardware assets including mobile devices;
    ● Properly maintain licenses and renewals for various software components;
    ● Coordinate with the Budget and Grants Manager to track and organize hardware and software requisitions;
    ● Coordinate with Talent Management team and Contracts team to properly on-board and off-board all incoming and outgoing full-time employees
    and consultants;
    ● Provision new employees on NYC3’s network with internet access, e-mail access, and multi-factor authentication;
    ● Provide Level 1 Help Desk support for NYC3 employees for any troubleshooting issues;
    ● Participate in and prioritize the activities to minimize impact on business.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements for Cyber Security Analyst Civil Service Title

    1. A baccalaureate degree, from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area;
    or
    2. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and three years of satisfactory experience in any of the areas described in “1” above;
    or
    3. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2”, above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in “2” above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. In addition, twenty-four (24) credits from
    an accredited college or graduate school in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area; or a
    certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience.

    CURRENT CITY EMPLOYEES WITH OTHER PERMANENT CIVIL SERVICE TITLES AND WHO PERFORM SIMILAR WORK ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

    Preferred Skills

    The preferred candidate should possess the following:
    ● Knowledge of NYC3’s network architecture including any dependencies on DoITT;
    ● Experience in creating user accounts;
    ● Experience in basic provisioning of Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems to new machines;
    ● Effective communication, customer relations and interpersonal skills; experience working with all levels of the organization, and ability to interface with Mid-level and Senior staff;
    ● Prior knowledge of imaging, encryption, configuring and setting up of desktops, laptops, tablets and other mobile devices;
    ● Technical management of machines (SCCM);
    ● Experience in patching machines;
    ● Familiarity with JIRA and/or other asset management software.
